LVT floor installation method

Date

Installing LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) floors usually requires the following steps:

1.Preparation:

Clean up the floor: Make sure the floor is flat, dry, clean, and free of any dust, oil, or debris.

Check the floor: Make sure there are no obvious unevenness or bumps in the floor, and repair if necessary.

2.Prepare materials and tools:

LVT Flooring Planks: Buy enough LVT flooring planks to ensure consistent color and grain.

Bottom Pad: Choose a suitable bottom pad for shock absorption and noise reduction according to your needs.

Glue: According to the recommendations of the LVT floor manufacturer, choose the appropriate floor glue.

Ruler, pencil, scissors, eraser, cutting knife and other tools.

3.Measure and plan:

Use a ruler and pencil to measure the dimensions of the room and calculate how much floorboards you will need.

Plan the direction and starting point for flooring based on the shape and layout of the room.

4.Lay the underlayment:

If desired, lay it on the ground according to the installation instructions of the underlayment, making sure it is fully fitted and secured.

5.Laying LVT floor:

According to the planned direction and starting point, place the first LVT floor on the ground, and make sure to keep a certain clearance (usually about 1/4 inch) from the wall.

Using scissors or a cutting knife, adjust the dimensions of the floor as needed, making sure it matches the wall.

Join the next floorboard to the edge of the previous floorboard, securing the floorboards using floor glue or other joining methods such as a splicing system as needed.

Lay the remaining floorboards gradually, making sure they join the previous floorboards tightly and without gaps.

6.End work:

Use an eraser or damp cloth to clean up the surface of the floor, making sure there is no glue or stains.

Allow the floor glue to dry and set completely, as recommended by the LVT floor manufacturer.

Install floor corner moldings or transition strips to cover floor edges and transitions between different floors.

Please note that the above steps provide general guidance only, and actual installation methods may vary with different LVT flooring brands and models. Before installing, it is recommended to carefully read the installation instructions of the LVT floor purchased and follow the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer.
